I got a hold of a ton and a half of Lehigh and now I'm back to the Blashack. I sure wish it was the other way around.

Well, February did not hold fast and eventually it drifted into March, but I can say that March has been well colder in these parts than February was. I'm burning more coal in March than I did in February.

Is your chair a bit closer to the Hitzer in March than it was in February? :)

The HEATING reality is that the Hitzer & the House are working together...No matter the outside temp ,from 35* down to 10* below zero, the inside temp is always the same & coal consumption only rarely varies upward by 10#.
This has to mean that the colder it gets outside.... the tighter the House squeezes itself so the Hitzer can consistently burn the same amount....When the outside temps go up....the House opens up so the Hitzer can consistently burn that same amount...

Meanwhile ... inside temps.... are always the same.... maybe 1* variation. ;) ;) ;) ;)

Right on the money WH. Once these 150 yr old post & beam walls, plus stone foundation absorb the heat, she holds on to it. :) On the few 70* days I do open a couple window stats in the stove room during sun light hrs.
