Did a real good clean out of the flue pipe and stove last evening. I didn't fire up last night though, it was still 60* at midnight! The temps have been slowly dropping since then and we will be back in the 30's by tonight. I need to get some furnace cement this morning for sealing the grates center seam & edges and then I'll fire it back up this afternoon.

Feb. is gone, and now we're into March, and here in lower N.E. it appears some thing that resembles winter is returning. Nothing extreme, but our past couple weeks of 50-60° highs are back on hold. Night time lows in the 20s to return, and highs only mid -lower 40s. And my black rock collection is dwindling fast. Only gut another weeks worth of burning. How 'bout you? Another purchase coming up, or have you enuff to make it through?

The ground is bare up here. Getting a few fat snowflakes, but none of it is staying.

Been snowing sideways here all day, not accumulating to much, but still a lot of snow in the woods, 28 outside currently.

Here we go again. Another winter blast, middle of March. Just got over a sloppy mess last week, and they're predicting another 1/2 a foot tomorrow.
Had to replenish my coal supply, and my local distributor was out of Lehigh, (Which is a good thing...people are buying it, so they'll refill their bins next season). I ended up with a few weeks worth of Blaschak nut, that I haven't ever burned. We'll see how it performs. It doesn't look anything like the pea coal I use-ta get from Blaschac. Looks more like Kimmel nut.
