OK ..... Well maybe it's not quite National News ..... But it's a start . :D

With this being Anthracite Mining Heritage Month, I put together a recap of my recent encounter with some friends at a local luncheon get together and submitted it to our local newspaper.

I was contacted the following day by Jimmy Fisher, a news reporter for the Times Leader / Sunday Dispatch, indicating they would like to run it as a guest column and asked if I would send him some pictures.

I was suprised yesterday when I checked my phone messages to find that the article was already online and posted on the Anthracite Coal Heritage Alliance site.

Here is a link to the online article:

Thanks for the plug Paulie, I always appreciate seeing my site mentioned. After the flood I was helping my friend who owns Old Mill Pine, I'm sure you are familiar with that store. I was friends with the owner since we were about 10. In any event I was talking with one of his customers and the conversation somehow came around to coal. He says something like "there is the great site on the internet...."

Most excellent work Paulie! Well written, I like how it is presented as a conversation. It answers many of the misconceptions about using anthracite. I'm sure it will strike the interest and curiosity of anyone who reads it. ;)
