Seems like the best way to clean up that pile is run it through a co-gen plant.

Absolutely, but they are best done when the plant is right next to the culm pile and the pile is right next to transmission line and there needs to be a use for the steam and electric. Theses electric plants take a little more effort than others but they exist.

I wonder what can be done with fracking waste liquid..... that is what Pa is trying to prevent new culm pile but made of fracking liquids

More coal discussion from Bloomberg News and Murray Energy...

https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2018-04-1 ... els-future

Murray wants to buy power plants cheap and run with his steam coal .

They have to be close to the mines to lighten transport costs .

More subsidies to unprofitable power producers and some

common sense to retire the fleet and replace with 0 fuel .

this is one of the power plants that was shut down , located Near chester pa. During my steamfitter apprenticeship this plant was discussed as the pipe walsl were inches thick. It status supercritical definitions that the pressure it operated at allowed the steam to have the same density as the water at heat temperature and pressure. Shut down. no longer operating

The old coal power plants converted recently to NG are small output units that were considered big back many decades ago when electrcity demand was very small.

A NG pipe today has to be very large coming in to full sized coal plants to be able to replace the Mega/Giga Watt equivilant that the train and barge loads of coal once delivered and stock piled on site did. And no hiccups either.

Not to worry. AOC has it all figured out. Wind and solar everywhere, huge hydro in Kansas, high speed rail, electric cars and trucks, and every building being rebuilt. A party every day with cake, ice cream, puppies, kittens, and free pony rides. Mean grumpy people will be taken away, and life will be a big long ride on the The Good Ship Lollypop.
