Well Gang.....After a low of -11* Sunday A.M.,I'm thrilled to report that it's 33* at 9:45 P.M. in Ol' Hamville !!

It's over for now..... We're supposed to bounce up into the high 50's by Thursday and drop into the single digits to low teens this Sunday....

Here comes the freeze/thaw mess !

I hear that, and I'll take it if only for a day, my stove is in pieces , took it down, pulled the grate out and it dam near fell apart in my hands, took it into the shop and the finger part (dump grate) did, so off to Tomahawk it went, hope to have it back in 2 to 3 weeks..

We got the freezing rain yesterday afternoon into last night giving us a sheet of ice on everything, deck, paver walkway, stone driveway and of course the road. The salt truck finally came through about 10:30 driving backwards so it could drive over the salt it put down for traction. Thats only the second time i ever saw that. Before that there was a car spinning out for about 1/2 hour only making it 200 yards up the slight incline on the road. I put some ash down for the front tires but that only got them another 100 yards before the ash pan was empty. They pulled onto a state forest service road and waited another hour for the salt truck.

26* now and it looks like we should be above freezing by about 11 and then hit 40* as a high today and tomorrow. 50* temps coming the rest of the week with some rain.

Freezing rain, sleet & snow all mixed together at times, started about 10 am,ended about 10pm. Temp was supposed to get up to 29*,actual was 21*,overnite was to be 15*,actual was 12*. Hoping the forecast of 39 * happens today & melt this white mix off. Used lots of coal cinder on the drive to enable vehicles to navigate.

Rain here but it froze as soon as it hit the frozen ground unless there was already salt . Mostly sidewalks affected. Got up to 30. Lots of salt on the roads built up from the last 2 weeks. Probably more with this one inch of snow forecast.

Suns out now and the temp is up to 34 so the walkway and stone driveway are melting off. I was surprised the road iced up last night since it was stained white from all the brine they put down, there was about 1/4" of solid ice on it though.

I had a real hairball round trip Mon. late morning to ship a package. Freezing rain got here a couple of hours earlier than forecast. Then about a half inch of snow on top. Clown drivers everywhere. Glad I was home by then. 43 F, today. Finally got the ice off of the roof of vehicles that was there since Christmas.

Yeah man! I'm afraid we have a ways to go for that yet. The end of January is top dead center of winter. This weather reminds me of a yo yo lol. 51 on Friday and then down to -6 on Sunday night!
