As the title shows, this cold blast is really hanging tight! Towards the end of next week some wicked frigid stuff will be plundering it's way across the north east yet, still! Looks like things will start to moderate around the 8th, we'll see. I had some pretty hefty coal days in December with consecutive 75-95 pounds per day loaded into the furnace. My cat found his new favorite lounging area directly over the coal furnace, what a bum lol.

Weather man just said -12 with 10 mph NW winds tonight. The EFM is down in the basement laughing it off.

I am invited to a New Year's party tonight at a house with oil heat...thinking I should being my slippers.

An old wives tale.

The first 12 days of the new year, is what the next 12 months will be.
Not looking good till September. Below normal temps till than.

Yes it is! I should hit the 100 pound mark those two days!

That’s 8 dollars per day for heat and DHW.

+4 here with a little wind . Looks like it's going to dip below zero tonight so we may have to shut the windowstats a bit and sacrifice the fresh air. If the wind picks up it may end up a 125 pound day.

It's a nice and toasty 74* inside and that's all that counts. :D
Happy New Year !

Paulie
