Thanks! Yeah, Dlink IP cam which uses a smartphone app so I can check it live from any location with WiFi or cell network service.

Lee....... I see some room to the right of the magnehelic guage.
Looks like a good spot for a humidity monitor to let you know when your coal bin gets thirsty.

Here's mine....not quite as high tech as Lee's and not quite as hands on as Fred's.....
Handy dandy hour meter....plugged into feeder receptacle on controller....9.33 hours of run time in the last 12 hours.
Barbeque temp gauge probe in the flue pipe...
manometer...
Forgot a pic of the IR temp sensor for stove body temps....590* at the hot spot this morning.

Yep, about every couple weeks I'll kick the old girl on for 10-15 minutes just so she remembers why she's there, no matter the weather

Other than a temperature gauge and an hour meter, I have nothing to share. I think some of you guys have taken this to the extreme.

I do have a couple IP cameras for the house, but not monitoring the stove. I do have the temp. gauges, Draft Gauge and Coaltrol with various switches for the different stokers and blowers. Jacket temp switch with separate blower. It works!! it's my FrankenFire stove. LOL.

Hey Lee, with a little arduino processor you could be sampling all those temps periodically and loading them to a spreadsheet. Include an outside air temp data point, the daily coal/ash weights and the graphs and tables and bar charts you could create will be impressive!!

I've got a BBQ thermometer to monitor the supply and return water temp on the EFM. I've also got a wifi thermostat so I can tell when there is a heat call, change temps etc.
I don't think that's overboard. I have thought many times that the obsessive monitoring of coal usage is over the top. Measuring ash, weighing coal, counting degree days, etc. Here's how I measure my coal usage. I load the bin in the fall with a known quantity of coal. Everyday or so I look in the coal bin and at the end of the season I look to see if I used it all or if I have some left. nothing else really matters to me.
