:?: Is there such a thing as a Powered Floor vent? (Floor register with built in fan). If so can you guys give me some suggestions as to where to buy or post some links. I'm searching on Goggle but may be using the wrong description because I'm coming up empty handed. Big thanks.

I have seen what your are looking for..itis a floor vent with a fan in it to boost air flow....maybe at Lowes or Home Depot....seen them at one of these places...and they are not listed on their on-line catalog....

Or you can make your own...get some 120 volt muffin fans or a small squirel cage fan and just put in your floor register and box under it and add your fan or fans....something like these blowers may work

or these

here is a booster fan that goes on top of the vent...

the powered floor registers were about 70.00 if I rember correctly...

if you get floor registers get the filtered ones..they have a removable filter that can be washed......

Hope this helps you out....

AL-53 I appreciate the feedback. I will Check out Lowes/Home Depot. I envisioned the filtered floor register w/ filter & 1 or 2 quiet fans integrated into the register. Almost like 120mm Computer Case fans. Quiet & uses little power. I could rig it but why if I can buy it @ a reasonable cost.

I believe one of these may be the ticket.....these would be easy to mount under a floor register...if you get the register box also which are cheap..for a 5 inch inlet pipe then mount this to the box..you are all set...total cost less than 40 dollars.....get the 2 speed one ..I gave myself a good Idea also..I may do this my self.....you could also rig it to a speed control

this is a 5 inch model

I have not seen round ones in the local Lowes or HD....they are pricey from the links you sent....for those prices..I will stick to rectangular cast ones with the louvers...lol....

Thanks for all of the replies. If anyone finds a nice decretive 6" round for a reasonable price let me know. I intend to hook up to a 6" in line fan & dimmer / variable speed switch to control speed. This will be great for summer also pulling cool air from basement on hot days.
