I put my snowplow on the truck this weekend and test fired the snowblower. Now that I've done that we probably won't have a white Christmas...

If that works maybe you could order an extra TL of coal so we can have another unseasonably warm winter.

Don't tempt me, I am already carrying about 1/2 season worth of safety stock and the 2018 budget has already been approved.

I just got in from snowblowing. About 2.5" fell yesterday and last night, with possibly 3" to 5" more to come today. Winter has arrived in Ohio. Boy is it a bear to get my snowblower started for the first time each season. I nigh on wore myself out starting it. It usually starts just fine once it gets past the first start after a long sitting spell.

Got another 6" last night-(lake effect) 10* at 4:30 this AM. Took a neighbor into Ithaca for his 2nd cataract surgery--beat the plows & the back roads (all mine) here sucked. Not gonna plow here till this snowin & blowin stops--figure we'll have a good foot by the time she quits for the day. More forecast for tomorrow & Fri. YEP, old man winter seems to have finally gotten here! :)

my generator, lawn mower, and snow blower are that way. I give them a quick shot of carb cleaner or starting fluid before the first pull and they usually fire right up.

Single digits last night, but only about and inch of snow here. Less than they said we'd have by now. We'll see what today brings.

No gas primer ?

My 10hp was always tough to pull start, until I switched to 5W-20. Even after it had been running. The book recommended 10W-30, and to only use 5W-20 if it got very cold out. Duh, who snowblows when it's not cold ? After the switch to lighter oil, it made a big difference in engine turning over speed, which made for faster air flow through the carb to better draw fuel in.

Switching to e-free gas also help. Not only making it run smoother, it also helped with starting because it stopped the carb draining when the engine was shutoff and the float needle would not seat fully.

No electric start ???

Has the primer hose rotted off at the carburetor fitting ????

5w30 is recommended in all snowblowers..

Use carb cleaner(gum cutter) to aid starting, don't use ether ..

Looks like I need to get some carburetor cleaner spray. Any brand names I should be looking for? And how about fuel treatment?
