heard recall on news yesterday,rounded up all of mine,surprised i had 9.five were kidde with the plastic handles or push buttons,which are the problem ones.got online for kidde recall,you need model # serial#&date of manufacture.long list of model#s,found 2 of the push buttons but not the other 3.made the phone call&could not be happier.got a southern belle on the line. N.C. she said lets take our time to make sure we get the info right.after 20 years of talking to india or wherever for computer problems or cell phone it was a joy.bottom line if you have one of these, make the call,not online. tom

Recalls do not mean that the product is bad....just that some have shown some issues.

w/o more info, just saying a recall has been issued does not mean much.

And difference between company recall v. ordered recall.

5to7days I was told I would get 5replacements and info of what to do with old ones. Will keep informed

One under recall that I keep in one of my vehicles. Called and got good service. You hope not to use it, but when you need it you want it to work.

i called yesterday on the status of my 5 that are on the list.its been 12 days since my first call.was told 12 to 15 business days,not the 5 t0 7 days that was first told. its a wait& see.will post when happens

fed X delivered 2 new ones today along with postage to send old ones back.guess they don't want them ending up at a flea market or yard sale.3 more to go. tom
