Just curious who's got their ears on. Summer went fast around these parts, and a few days ago I had the urge to light off the G111. Night time temps were knocking on the 40s, and I thought the furnace was gunna light off. Had no coal available, and thought about using wood. But the next day the oats were predicted to be in the 80s, so I begrudgingly held off the temptation. Have any of you Northern participants been burning yet?

I'm getting closer every day J. 30's night--low 70's upper 60's day. I crank the oil furnace on for 1/2 an hr. in the morning--5:00 AM just to take the damp off.

Hey Joe, nice to see ya! I got my winter's supply 5 tons of Lehigh, I'm excited to try it out. I'm gonna try to hold out till closer to Halloween.

Welcome back from summer hibernation.

I fired up the range last Friday and have had it going non-stop since. Posted about it here, Early Fall ?

I'd rather do that, even if it warms up some during the day, then use expensive pro-pain to cook with.

Not yet, but maybe in a few weeks. Heat pump does a fine job of throwing a little heat on cool mornings.

Took delivery a week ago, but a bit too early here. Just bumped on my a/c today to knock out the 90% humidity we have!

My general rule is that when we have not used the AC for about 2 weeks, it is time to light up.

At least I am ready to go...just put a new cleanout tee on the 520 (replaced a 90 degrees elbow). Been going to put one on for 6 years...about time!

Started coal fire late Friday morning, ran out of wood. Nice in here now IAT 76-78. Lows for last 2 weeks upper 30's highs low 70's.
Propain furnace makes to much noise.

About two weeks early here. Middle of September or 1st of October

my target has habitually been Thanksgiving day, over the yrs there have been few times we didn't make it, or burned into May.

Wow! Lots of members already back. Knew some of you "range" burners, might've had a few fires goin, to cook up the steaks and lobsters. (In my case, it would've been 'burgers and dogs"). I think I commented once before, about how I read that people use-ta have a range outside, for summer time cookin, sos they wouldn't be heatin up the house.
Rob, you replaced your elbow that needed replacement 6 years ago? You know some metal duct tape would've bought you a few more years.

Hi Paul, I wish I had time for hibernating this summer. Tore up my entire frt yard with a spade shovel, and a JD214, in preparation for grass. Have only had weeds and crab grass for the past 30 yrs, and thought I'ld better take care of it now, while I'm still "ambitious" enuff.

Hey Fred, see your posting numbers are reaching our national deficit. Nicely done. By the way, my daughter is at college in Syracuse. How far are you from there?

Bout 45 minutes J.--I'm 15 minutes off 81--(Marathon exit 9)

Did a similar JD rodeo about 12 years ago. A neighbor with his 110 towing mini York rake and me with a similar 214 with a tiller, fast work and a good deal on Hydro seeding and never looked back, lawn is still doing well. Keep up the efforts it will pay off, along with some Scotts, yes dear there is a difference in fertilizer brands, I was one of the last to give into that

I started the k-lite last week to take chill out of house as it was in lower 60s during nights. I shutdown on Monday, but will relight tonight after work.

Got a full tank of "jet" in the basement . I'm gonna try to hold off until 10/31
