35 here this morning. I also fired up yesterday as it was getting colder.

Besides having that nice warmth, another plus was that Melissa baked pumpkin bread, and then bacon for BLT sandwiches for today. Everytime it cools off and I get the range going, she loves to do a lot of cooking/baking with it. Shoveling coal can be very rewarding. ;)

Probably monday as a high of 56 and a low of 35 forcast. When its sunny my closed in sun porch heats the 1st floor up to 80 no matter the outside temps . But monday will be cloudy.

Still not burning yet .. temps moderate .. 68F inside today.

Has to get colder than that during the day !

At night? As long as its above freezing, it does not factor into it.

Wifey will complain and when the stove is lit, she's happy we have a stove.

I usually don't light up until around the first or second week of November. With the temps we've been having during the day, I'm just letting the propane furnace take the chill off when needed. But, I've been getting anxious to switch over.... the house is so much more comfortable when the stoker is running, as long as it's not too warm outside.

That''s the issue Proman, staying warm at night W/O baking yourself out in the daytime. I love the warmth and glow of the black rocks, but with the ashes, it takes some work. I don't want to be overworking myself, and my window-stats, and send the $ outside. Once the daytime temps drop down into the mid 40s, (consistently,) and the nites will be colder, then I can idle her down low enuff in the daytime, to be comfortable. As mentioned above, around here, sometime in Nov., (I hope). This whole week is projected to be well into the 70s...still. :(

Yeah, that's some of the extra flooring I had from my hardwood flooring 1200 sq ft project. I have lots to burn.

All coal burning now.

Good draft tho.

I've gone back to wood starting too. Instantaneous heat and screaming draft. Wish I had your hardwood though Dave. Great starter material.

Didn't get anything yet ....... When the rain let's up , I'll climb up the pole and see if it came in on my outside phone.

Can't wait to get rid of this three party line.
