A long time.

How's everyone been? Not sure if anyone remembers me. I went through a few rough years. I had a Coal Chubby, traded it off to Crazy4Coal and bought a DSM-1600 and heated my drafty POS house with it for several years. Then things got rough and again Crazy4Coal helped me out by storing my DSM in his coal yard.

I kept in touch with him and Coalfire for a bit but as time passed and I got busier and busier trying to fix myself and straighten a bunch of stuff out I lost contact. I have no idea if Crazy4Coal even still has my DS-1600; hell I wouldn't blame him for selling it. I still talk to Coalfire just not as often as I used to.

Anyway, it's been a bunch of years since I've heated with coal. I had planned on moving out of NJ and head down south to Tennessee. In fact that almost happened except my employer backed out of a job offer and a transfer they promised me and I had to back out of buying a house. I'm currently in the middle of buying a house in NJ and with some luck in a few weeks I may be gearing up to burn coal again. Nothing is set in stone yet because I still have the worst luck in life and this entire thing could go sideways still.

Anyway, just thought I'd drop in and say hi. Hopefully I'll be around more.

Thanks Fred! I always tell my wife that I miss burning coal. We've been renting a place that has a natural gas fired forced hot air furnace. It's not the same as a coal fire.

Good to see you're still kicking IOF. I remember some of your past rants about your old house and your job. They were classic :P Hopefully your luck has turned around.

I did have a washing machine that sheared the bolts holding the drum in. Stupid machine was a few months old.

We need some fresh homeowner project stories to spice things up. When do you close on the new place?

Supposedly the middle of July. But it's been recently renovated; within the last year. I shouldn't have to do anything to it. About the only think I am going to do is have the chimney inspected and make sure it's good for me to use.
