New pit opened south of Pittsburg PA with 2 more to follow. Metallurgical coal is in demand after China cut back. The general overseas supply line for this grade is fragile.

How can he take credit for others work? Disgusting!
On the bright side I have to wonder where this coal is going unless overseas, it doesn't matter much but local steel production doesn't use anthracite on a large scale anyhow.

That's a bituminous coal, not anthracite as I understand it.

The mis-spelling of Pittsburgh threw me off thinking it was in Eastern Pa. but either way the type of coal doesn't matter. The fact that Trump jumps in to having helped is sad, hopefully his backing doesn't jinx it like others he has "helped". That area is already heavily mined & I wish them the best as jobs are always needed.

Care to explain that comment? Seems a bit bizzare to me.

I can't comment on Trump since this is only a coal forum

samhill, you are gonna have to take the political stuff to the hellfire forum.

Sorry about that, didn't catch the autocorrect spelling.

I thought hard about where to post this. It's mainly news about coal, albeit Bit, and it's news about the 1st of 3 new mines to open I thought it would reach a wider audience in this section. The title of the article is worded to attract groups of different ideologies. If the Mayor or moderators feel it should be moved, please do so.

Ya posted just fine Vig. Real good article about coal--bit or anth.--it's still coal & helps to keep a bunch of us warm in the winter. President Trump finally has people REALISTICALLY opening their eyes to our own resources. Don't let the goofy people deter you from posting GOOD news.
