Well, the fire went out yesterday and it's supposed to be warm for at least a week. I'm scheduled to get a new hip Feb 28th, so if it does turn cold I won't be able to restart it. Dennis

I too hope all goes well. I hope that you, like all that I know who have add this done, are soon asking yourself why you waited so long. Take care, Lisa

Thanks for the encouragement. My worry is infection. Apparently I've picked some up over the years. Dennis

Just but a barrel of coal in the room and toss 'em in one by one?

Hopefully your body has built up an immune system since then. Another "Good Luck". :)

Like everyone else, I'm wishing the best for you Dennis.

For what it's worth;
These joint replacements had really gotten popular in the last 15 years. I've had many customers who have had hip & knee replacements. Probably 98% of them say they don't know why they waited so long.

They'd live day to day in misery. After the replacement, the pain is gone (other than healing / therapy). From what I'm told, the ones who push past the pain during therapy, have better end results.

.........and lastly, of the two joint replacements (Hip & Knee), they say the hip goes smoother.

Again, these are all quotes from many of my customers who have been through it. Myself personally; any operation sounds scary to me. Hope I never need one.

Last week they did a nasal swab. It came back that I have a staph infection. They said they can minimize it but not get rid of it completely. I heard of 3 horror stories of infected joints. That's my worry. I know it's going to hurt. I was in a motorcycle accident in 1972, and I've had 2 bone grafts. Dennis
