Oh yeah, those thermostats are a bit clunky and stick sometimes, that's been my experience with them. I replaced mind with a thermo snap disc. It seems to be much more reliable.

But that might not be the problem. It seems the problem could be that it's burning too much coal for the heat demand. What regulates the coal usage?

Now the blower to get heat out of the box is back on blowing hot air again. Maybe that's good and the issue is it's burning too much. It's a typical bar slides back and coals drops in and bar goes forward and it burns off ok the belt then. As of right now there is nothing on at stove, hoping it was filled and back to normal. These next two nights aren't the nights for this to happen for sure

That control is only for the blower motor...does nothing to make any coal burn.
You are never to rotate the disc...you are to hold it still whenever moving the slide settings.

Your stoker feed motor and stoker combustion fan are what needs your attention to control how much heat gets made...blower is just what washes that heat away from the heat exchanger/walls to deliver that heat and to as well keep from over-heating the heat exchanger walls and warping the steel or even something worse.

Just temporary, set thermo at 60- 65. THEN have at it when this artic blow calms down.

The fan stays on, trying to cool the stove itself.
A few things to look at:
1.) How many timer pins? should have 3 groups of 3 pins. Or, 3 groups of 4 pins. If more than that, take timer pins out.
2.) Barometric damper should be set on -.02 or -.03
3.) Where is the thermostat? May need to move it closer to the stove, or stove room.
4.) As mentioned; Maybe too much feed. Might have to back the stoker feed off some.
5.) Actually could be all of the above. My brother had the same exact problem as you. It was all of the above for him.
