Fisher Mining is stripping in English Center,which is in that neck of the woods.The coal is semi-Anthracite.

it looks like a breaker, with sorted piles the right color to be coal, and a scale house just south of the pit.

Yes, Antrim a few miles north of JS was another one time hot spot for coal served by the Fall Brook Railway. The tailing dump can still be seen from rte 287 as you pass south thru Antrim which is more or less just a name now.

I travel that area on the way to Cherry Springs and always looking for another route when I noticed the mine. You can also see all the drilling pads scattered through out the woods. I love riding up in that area.
