Meet an Greet Highlites at No. 9 Mine Tour
Guys here are items part of the tour .Cages or elevators they went down 910 feet to fourth level connected to no.8 mines fifth level .The cable an chains are 3 or 4 inches thick .Next you can look down to the second level an also see the shaft guides . Muleway 3 feet wide 7 foot high connected to all levels .If a mule was needed say third level needed extra mmules you could be brought up on the cages .The cages were open on two sides or you brought the mule up the muleway .Your choice maybe kicked off the elevator .Escapeway also a Coal Chute .Now at the chute in a 8 foot vein of coal you can see How A Miner Worked .The chute is divided into a manway at 3 feet an chute 4 feet where the coal flows from the face .The manway are crude steps .The chute is on a 60 degree pitch following the coal vein .So the chute is 3 feet wide for steps or manway and the rest is 5 feet wide for the coal to slide down from the coal face .The chute went up the pitch at 60 degrees following the vein .Every 5 feet you install 3 seven foot oak timbers an twelve 2 by 6s overhead. All this must be lugged up the chute .By you an buddy .Nut busting .This took us guys 14 months every sat. We took out blasted out over 900 ton of coal .Please Take Pictures .Gravity worked for the miner as remember all the timber was taking up 140 feet but when you we fired the 6 dynamite shots The Coal Slides Down THe Chute To Wating Mine Cars .. Easy noooo .Next small hospital carved out of rock .Next see a Big spill caveinn .There is more an note you can spend a Half Day in the museum .See ya jack Oh I will have a Blue Lehigh Hat On . jack

Whoo-Whee ! Made it to the Official Area of Jack's Professionally Conducted Mine Tours ! I'm sure much more to follow today ! I'd better leave the keyboard behind now as Law Enforcement's probably closing in ! They're gonna have to come down into that Mine to find me... Who would've thought me being invited to this Whopper could cause so much trouble ?
