Guys yesterday I ran into Scott Herring a Anthracite History photographer .Scott has filmed many breakers an collierys in Pa. now gone .I mean hundreds of pictures .Anyway he told me of a volunteer group that has restored a large Steamer found in the weeds years ago .It was a coal hauler years ago Fascinating current pictures .Check it out .Kinda like that Lionel steamer we got Or Hoped For At Chrismas .Jack .

My father was a brakeman/fireman/engineer on the NYCRR. He retired when they retired the steam engines.

Yeah, that's one "stove" I'd love a chance to shovel coal into. Even if only for a short ride in the cab. ;)

But from what William describe of all the know-how that is involved in the where, when, and how to put the coal in the firebox, I pretty sure I'd be fired as fireman in record time ! :D
