I went hunting around for a thread dedicated to coal fire pictures but didn't find one. So how bout we start one! We can post the coolest pics of our obsession and talk about tips and tricks to get that perfect shot.

Please feel free to add your prized picture of your coal fire with a description of the conditions about how it was taken. This isn't to be restricted to hand fed stoves, you stoker fellas have some fantastic pics as well.

I take mine in a dark room with the flash off. Usually the automatic settings of the camera or smart phone do a pretty good job of gathering light. Sometimes I'll do some manual camera settings to brighten it up. Then I'll use some post picture editing to sharpen and enhance contrast and adjust saturation. Here's a few of my favorites.

Lets see some fires!! :D

Pics of the baby blues with bituminous coal. Pics were taken with my cell phone, about 3/4 of the way thru the burn cycle of the coal. No editing was done to the photos.

Lot of nice photos here. Good idea  Lightning.
Here are mine, one for the Sunnyside (vintage effect) and one for the Golden Bride, both burning anthracite.
