I used a Fluke Ti120 thermal imager. They cost $6500.00. I work in the Calibration Dept. of a large Pharmactical. I can use any of the tools we have. Just have to sign it out and bring it back. I also used the Fluke last year to find a bad draft in my house. I found the closet ceiling in the foyer wasn't insulated. I just used the Fluke to scan the ceilings till I found a cold spot. $50.00 worth of insulation and the problem was solved. Ya gotta love toys.

Bud L,, man would I love to use that scanner in my old place,, I'm sure there are dozens of places where a little caulk and a handfull of insulation would make a huge difference..

I rescued this stove from the side of the road quite a few years ago. Served me well burning wood. It's almost ready to burn coal this season.

The new install of the Hitzer 82 in 12/05. Not even broke in yet at the time of the picture.
Just removed the Orbon and slid the Hitzer in.

Has anyone else noticed that his KA-6 has the stove-derived stoker rather than the "old school" Keystoker stoker? I just did a double-take on the picture, but sure enough, that is NOT the "classic" Keystoker stoker.

Is it a cost-cutting move from Keystoker or is it due to the fact that FingerLakesStoker has a direct vent model and Ambajejus Lake has a dual fuel, standard vent model? I'm going to go on a limb and say it's because of the direct vent and it's inability to deal with big draft changes (speaking from experience). The stove-based stoker has the single fan for combustion that runs 100% of the time, and with that, you set up the direct vent to provide your draft setting. The "old school" stoker has the little "helper" fan, but then the main fan kicks in when the stoker runs. That's going to cause a big difference in draft with the fixed-draft capability direct vent unit.

I just found it interesting as I would have never expected the KA-6 to be able to be equipped with the stove style stoker.

Runing late as always. Ordered it a couple weeks before thanksgiving. Showed up tuesday Dec 2nd. I was up on the roof shoving the liner down the last day that there was no snow up there. It happened to be the same day it arrived at about 3:30 pm, was on the roof by 5:30 just in time for lights out. Getting 600lb of stove in the house was no picnic either. The craftsmanship on this baker is superb I'l get right on the install that's what I told the wife
