I was looking at coal stoker videos on Utube (there aren't many) and came across this.

This thing is a real steam engine running a real coal stoker! It shows how the stoker runs and everything.

I want one!

Thanks for posting that. Really amazing!

There are quite a few live steam groups around the country now.

Had lots of fun taking my kids for rides at the Long Island Live Steamers layout, when they were young.

I am a big train nut. We are moving soon and have already started purchasing things to build one of those in our backyard.

It is all in German, but to me, coal is coal.

One of the little tid-bits that I find amazing is the tiny little steam engine they made to drive the stoker. Yes, that stoker is steam driven. You can see it in the part where they are demostrating the stoker by itself on forward and reverse drive.

COOL!.

Will it be hand fired, or a stoker?

Hand fired. Looked into stoker and big big $$$. The hand fired aint cheap either.
Chance I may go with a gas burner too. Really want to do coal though. Right now I just have parts of the chassis for the loco, and a lot of rail for the track.

I wish we had a section on this forum for steam power projects. That would be very interesting!
