Actually, it looks like it was very well maintained for its age. The outside is porcelain enamel, and may even clean up. I looked it over for almost an hour, inside and out and other than the front door handle missing , it's in pretty good condition plus the price was right.

How is your Wehrle coming along? Do you have any information on a Wehrle #106 ?

Hi, Paul. Nice find and it looks in very good condition. Your stove looks just like my Golden Bride, mine is a 12" fire pot so a small one but it can send a lot of heat out of it. They are "full equiped": base burner, double heater, check damper and all the rest...
As you can see on the photo: Grander Stove.
How is the inside of the stove, grate fire pot... we love photos...

Thanks Pierre! It's official, I brought it home this afternoon. Does your Grander catalogue have a picture of the Merry Bride? I think some of the brides had front wings. The seller still has to find the footrests , but didn't remember if it had wings.

The stove is in really decent condition otherwise , and I wwill post more pictures shortly.

Alright, the Merry Bride is down the man cave in one piece, awaiting it's turn to breathe fire once again.

Meanwhile, I'll give it some exploratory surgery, to see what she needs as far as organ transplants.

The firepot in that looks very similar to 'scottscoaled' Magic Stewart 16.

From looking at the thickness of those grates, your going to have to do some burnin to damage those guys

I'm waiting for him to post some measurements, Looking at his pics, I can't tell if his support ring is part of the firepot or separate.

The owner, who is in his late 80' s , said it lived on coal since he was a young lad.

If they are in fact the original grates, I'm thinking with proper care they should be good for another 100 years or so .
