I fired up the Yukon-Eagle wood/coal furnace 31 Oct. To date I've used 52 bags of nut and stove coal (approx 1.5 bags per day). Admittedly, there were a couple days we were out of town, and our daughter just ran the propane furnace. There were also a couple days in the 40s where I just kept a low-grade wood fire going for heat, but since it was the coldest November on record here in the Upper Peninsula, most has been on coal. I started out the season with 320 bags in the basement, so I've burned off 16 percent of my "in house" supply.

2,318 lbs. from October 1st. through December 6th. Somewhere around 300 lbs. of that was for the homes DHW needs.
DennisH, your heating demand is about 1/3 greater than mine due to your much colder location. My burn would have been more like 2,990 lbs. to date if my house was in your neck of the woods.

1350 LBS since Nov 7th but that includes starting a empty stove that holds almost a 100 LBS but I'm not burning my Mammoth I have been burning 320 LBS of Susquehanna anthracite and 320 LBS of Kimmel's (that 320 LBS come from my indoor bin which holds 320 LBS ) from TSC so that number is a little high, If it was all Mammoth it would be around 1100 LBS but its not been that cold. 3/4 of a Ton since Nov 14th. That's both Stokers started the same day, been kind of mild, should have pretty much killed a full ton by now. Not complaining mind you.

Been running since 10/25 and I've used 1,950 lbs in my Reading Juniata. Keeping 3,000 square feet at 70* works for me!
How much coal?? ....enough to keep the place at about 70* (~2800 sqft) since the beginning of Nov and that is about as exact as I can get!!
I don't know the lb's like you guys do. That's the down side of the vac system, no way to tell how many lbs have been burned since nothing is ever really empty when it is refilled (the hopper, barrel or coal bin). It a good thing I am not an exact science kinda guy or this would drive me crazy!! hmmm....maybe if I wired up an hour meter to the stoker motor......
I'll check back in April with a better guestimate, but it will probably total around 4 tons by the end of the year going by past years experience.
