Total coal weight 4300 lbs. Could have put more in, but I don't have anywhere to store it right now.Charlie Z wrote:You know we're going to ask how much you got into the uHaul. Clever rig.

We were there earlier. Next time PM Coalberner, he'll take you right to it. The closest U-Haul location that had that trailer is in Effort, PA. A little bit of a ride for me, I have to finish emptying it today and take it back. $29.95 a day.butchs37 wrote:Hey wood'ncoal where did u get the trailer? Went to Superior yesterday got lost in hegins and valley view for an hour. Finally found it at 12:00 just made it.

I wish. It's really perfect for hauling coal. U-Haul says 1,915 lbs. capacity, but it can hold more. It has hydraulic surge brakes on it. They are hard to find, not all the dealers have them. I extended the sides in case the coal piled too high, but as the photos showed, it all fit nicely. Max speed while towing was 55 to 60, after that it began to sway. Renting it is cheaper, but the convenience of having a trailer available all the time would be nice.butchs37 wrote:Thanks I thought you might have bought it used from Uhaul.
Report on the burning quality of the Superior coal later.

No one told you you can't get there from here?butchs37 wrote:Hey wood'ncoal where did u get the trailer? Went to Superior yesterday got lost in hegins and valley view for an hour. Finally found it at 12:00 just made it.
I got a load from there in mid January and it seems to be burning hotter and a little less ash than the load I got from there back in August. Just a very unscientific observation on my part and basing it on casual observation while tending to the boiler. In other words its just my opinion.Wood'nCoal wrote:Report on the burning quality of the Superior coal later.
