I'm looking for parts for a Hyfire II and would rather not have to pay dealer cost. I have looked for parts on the internet and can not come across any with out going to a dealer.
Thank you.

To my knowledge the only parts that might have aftermarket support are the blowers. Grates and things like that are only available from LL. What parts do you need?

The stove that Im working on has not been taken care of since it was installed in 1999. The owners still have the same pipe in that is rusted so bad you can not see any black paint. It was plugged with ash so bad that it was exhausting through the hopper. They want me to give them a price on the parts or by a pellet stove.

Ya know, there's a portion of our population that probably should NOT be burning coal due to ignorance/laziness. Sounds like your clients MIGHT fall into that category. Just sayin

I rarely see hyfire's available on the secondary market, they are an extremely expensive stoker for good reason (they preform incredibly and have ability to both reduce burn during spring/fall as well as blow you out the water in winter if needed). Hard enough to find these stoves used (never-mind trying to find individual parts for them).

You say you are rebuilding this for a "customer"? Does this mean you are in the business of stokers/stoves? If you can prove this is your business and you wish to become a repair rep or dealer rep I would inquire to Leisure Line directly and find out the territory your in and if its possible for you to service them. I will say that Leisure Line parts are VERY affordable in comparison to many other stove companies (I want start barking out names toothy), so the mark up is very minimal in terms of what a dealer pays vs what the customer pays.

Post Up some Photo's of the Hyfire when your done! Best Wishes!

Are Leisure Line parts prices that high priced that one has to go to the internet for a "better deal" ?????????? I repair lawn & garden equipment ,sell parts for them & in the past have sold new equipment too . We are not selling new equipment anymore because of the same concept.. that a dealer (us) are too high priced, but when analyzing a customers purchase elsewhere , we & they find that had they bought from us they would have gotten a better equipped model at the same or better price .They think they can buy parts from the internet or strait from the manufacturer cheaper only to find out that they paid a higher price & they were charged for shipping ,which is something we only do for special orders . I personally think that this "internet" mindset is destroying the local economy ,which translates to local business's,towns &keeps rippling outward. Do the internet sellers give a rip about you as a customer ?? NO, they see your money, that's as far as their "care" goes. Many of them do not collect sales tax as we have to which helps their pricing look better . I see 2 choices.... buy chineese junk that has no parts available ,throw away when it breaks & repeat, OR, buy from an American company,an American made product, supported by American dealers who in turn support the local economy & yes the local businesses are what keep your town & state going. If you doubt what I said, pick up a year book from your local school, look at the list of advertisers , lo & behold it's the local businesses who payed for that year book & if you supported your local businesses you had a part in that support. Need more convincing ? call Matt at LL,yes you can talk to the owners at LL ,go to Berwick & get Matt to give you a tour of their facilities.Where will you go for warranty for your internet purchase ? how about support when you can't figure out how to install a part ? many times the part you buy on the internet has different specs than the OEM part ,yes , even blower motor specs can be different causing your unit to operate poorly which could damage the unit or just not put out what it was capable of originally . :mad3:

How about we find out what parts are needed? Might not be any other options anyway.

As for getting a pellet stove instead, make sure they buy two if they want the same heat as the Hyfire.

The parts prices are not expensive. Depending on where you are you may be able to make a deal with a dealer nearby with prices and get a little off, if you will be servicing stoves in that area. If you do not have a dealer in your area then just call us directly and explain the situation. [Phone Number Removed] I doubt you will find a pellet stove to compare to the hyfire so I would say its worth fixing and showing the people that maintenance is required on any heating system. Thanks , Dave

 I think they'll need THREE pellet stoves to match the 150k+ btu's!!

In addition to the parts it sounds like they need a monthly service call to keep the unit clean and operating safely. That could be a growing business, instead of monthly visits from the oil guy to fill your tank, certain users get a monthly service call to vac out the flue pipes and do a bit of maintenance on the stove.

Windyhill4 said it best. Support your local dealer. Sure they make a profit so they can pay there bills and employees. Also the other reason is to give the dealers the incentive to stock the parts so they are immediately available.

There is definitely a need for service people that are real good with the stoves. Could be a good business for someone wanting to travel around a bit.

If they can't handle the maintenance of a coal stove, they SURE AS HECK won't handle the daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance of a pellet stove! And they sure won't be happy with 1/3 the heat output AT THE SAME COST.

The fact that unit survived under that kind of Dangerous Neglect is one Hell of a Testament to it's Design and Build Quality! Think about putting that same Quality right back in to it on the rebuild. I'd rather lose the job because I was going to do it correctly. My most hated 3 words in the English Language regarding Financials would be:Free,Cheap and Rape...Nothing is truly free,Cheap kills, and rape is the most vile of the 3. The Truth in your work will always lie in the middle. You need to be paid, they need quality work. Remember, sometimes you have to fire a Customer. Be wary with these Folks, and it's a wonder they didn't CO themselves to Death on rusted out Black Pipe. Tell 'Em they've got to have working CO Alarms. I wouldn't want my name on the job as the last guy who laid hands on that unit if something went wrong. Good Luck,my Friend, and a Very Warm Welcome to The Board ! Oh,a Pellet Stove to replace a Hyfire-Con somebody else.... :bang:

Ownership requires servicing of anything mechanical. Neglect your car for 10 years and see how that works out. Basic common sense is in short supply these days, and if you are going to deal with folks who want you to squeeze EVERY penny out of the situation, perhaps those folks should move back to a cave and leave the 'lifestyle' they have.

I am assuming that you have not taken apart anything on a stoker stove, because you would know that there is NOT much to rebuild, even with over a decade of abuse. Stoker motors and blower motors wear out, just like alternators and starters on cars, but NOT often. I was going to ask how 'tidy' the area around the fan and stoker motors was, but that is self explanatory.
If someone stuck you in a small room and the only air supply was full of nasty dust, 24/7 for 15 years and an occasional hopper fire to keep you warm.......are you seeing the forest yet, or are the damned trees in the way.......????????????????

If you want to hold hands with the customer for the lifetime of the appliance, best wishes, but even those who have NO CLUE should be willing to pay for the privilege of safety, economy, and reliability!!!!!!!
It is extraordinary that THE OWNERS of Leisure Line respond, 7 days a week, virtually 24 hrs a day and give FREE advise, information and assistance to ANYONE, whether it is their product or not.
.......and you think you can save $34.57 on a couple motors or other parts????????........so screw them?
Last I heard neither Matt or Dave was out on a tropical island; flying around on a personal 747, or ordering up a new fleet of AMG toys.
No rotary auto answer machines.....call....get a real person......heck, even the owner.......that is PRICELESS from my perspective.....and always will be!

If you have what it takes to be an authorized dealer or servicing agent, biting off the hand that feed you MIGHT not be in your best interest. :!:
