Those thieves at Aubuchon wanted over $140 to deliver to me and the store is 10 miles from my house.

The price per ton with them was $458.40 in Jan of the year. Needless to say I will NEVER do any business with them on ANY level. If anyone would like to see the emails from Aubuchon with their pricing drop me a PM.

They must be watching the thread because when I clicked on the link the price dropped to $8.49 / bag, still a rip off. I have been looking for some bituminous to try and the same store wants $12.49 / bag :eek2: HORSE HOCKEY!

The Byrne Dairy Chain has been selling the Blashak rice coal
for 8.50 a bag up here ($425.00 ton) picked up at thier stores

I am surpised that they have not been accused/arrested
for price gouging as I have purchased coal for $6.00 to 6.50 a bag $240.00-260.00 ton

I guess its just like thier sales of firewood being seasonal as they
have not replaced their inventory of palleted rice coal.

Some would say:

"(It is simply a retail business decision selling a seasonal item)"
that they store in thier regional warehouse and simply offer it for
sale like everything else and more power to them.

Go figure,

HMMMMMM?

I wonder if Blaschak is watching any of thier retailers or simply selling
it all on a cash basis/net thirty day sales?

I fully understand a "convenience store" charging premium prices for their products and you don't expect "BigBox" prices at those places either.

What I don't get is a retail hardware chain like Aubuchon that has 125 stores sticking it to people like that AND the insane $125 shipping charge to go 10 miles. Clearly Aubuchon is buying several TT loads of coal to supply its retail locations. Their website is so detailed you can view the coal inventory for each store. (or you could back in Jan at least) The outrageous price does no favors to Blaschak either. But if Aubuchon can charge it and get it then that is truly their business. But I won't be doing business with them, ever, and would encourage others not to as well.

Vote with your wallet! If people won't or don't buy their product, they'll either come down or cease supplying, which will obviously cut into their bottom line!

Check to see if your local agway has or will order in coal for you...

Wait, in Three Rivers(Munson area) Ma. they sell a bit lower than any Blashak dealer around. When they were actually in Munson, (CSM) I used to buy from them but only because they moved futher north it was no longer a cost savings with gas and travel time. But still, no where near $400 per ton, more like $275.

OZZY!

CSM and Squire Lumber are the cheapest around here - both fairly close to each other.

The Aubuchon's down the road here folded a couple years back. They were always a total ripoff - even when I was a kid. You only went there if all other choices were exhausted, and they were the only store open. Too many other options around here, so BYE BYE!
