We got approx. 4" since 10:30pm,storm is really gearing up for us now as the wind & snow have both increased. titleist1 ,I sure hope our forecast of 12-18" doesn't double like yours did !! Spring is ......
I have the generator staged for the expected power outage. We have a lot of pine trees on the 2 miles of road heading back here over the power lines and the ones I can see are really heavy with snow.
Some folks just north of us in Chester county PA just got power back yesterday from last weeks storm. They have to be just thrilled with this.
eta...just tried to turn on news to see what the rest of the area is getting and no satellite signal, looked out at the dish and it is buried on that corner of the roof in snow.
we are right on the snow / sleet line. as I was outside shoveling a couple minutes ago it was changing back and forth from snow to sleet.

Amazing.... it just circled around us on its way North.
We got about 4" but it dumped a lot of rain after that.
That rain will probably be more snow for the Northeast.

I awoke to about a 1/2"-1" of snow on the ground and still coming down. My boss called and said there was a 2 hour delay. He then called back an hour later and said they had closed the office to stay home. They just recently started the delayed openings but this is the first time they've ever told us to stay home. One of the Tech's rolled his can during the last snow storm. Guess they are panicking now that corporate might come down on then for telling guys to work in inclement weather. We're a life safety companys who forces their own employees to work when roads are dangerous to be on.
We're now expected to get 12-16" by me though.

Very small flakes here in Southwick Massachusetts.
So far 1 inch accumulation with a slight breeze.
Went out last night to add oil to the stby gen.
Figured I'd run it too.
After 20 minutes or so of running unloaded in "manual" mode, I noticed the green "ready" light will not come on and the unit will not transfer automatically.
So much for being proactive.
Joy.

I hope you all are ok through this. It seems like you keep getting hit over and over. I watch the weather from here...we have had no snow at all and we really need the moisture. There are huge cracks in the ground and water lines are breaking everywhere. Last month Sioux City, Ia. had about 40 major water main breaks and they can't keep up with the repairs. I'm glad you're at least getting the moisture. Jerry

"Only" 6 inches on the ground here in central PA so far. Coming down hard and the wind is beginning to pick up. The 10 year old is suiting up to go sledding. That's the only advantage there is to living on a very steep street,......until the plow comes. Which will probably not be until tomorrow.

Snowing like mad here on the hill. School was cancelled yesterday at noon. Calling for 12 to 18 inches but we generally beat that. Probably 24 here. Got the bacon frying wife is working from home and my babies are sleeping in. Lots of work ahead for me but that's ok everyone is safe and WARM. Thanks to that nasty black stuff burning in my basement!! Be well everyone, NWB

Will be leaving for work soon. Right now just a coating and flurries. Forecast is 4-6 inches then a wintry mix tonight. Wonder how long my hour commute is going to take today? Seems like all the joy riders come out in bad weather. Hey, it's snowing out lets go driving. Hopefully I get somewhat decent equipment and the signal system isn't screwed up. The snowstorm we had last week screwed up all the grade crossings (6) through a entire town. Winter on the railroad isn't easy. Everyone be safe. Matt
