We're not planning on venturing out today. We live on a very steep hill and it's a sheet of ice

Sounds like a war zone here. Branches snapping off every couple minutes. 200 amp service laying on the roof of my wifes 4runner.

Large birch snapped off halfway up and laying in my pond. Mess everywhere I look.

Oh that doesn't look good.
We had about 5 inches of snow, now getting sleet.

Yeah, I hope she doesn't get a "shock" when she lifts that off her roof. :P

I heard that part of RT.422 was shut down due to ice, so far here it's mostly snow & plenty of it. If your in the ice situation just hunker down & use common sense, stay warm & safe, this too will pass.

6" here so far in 5 hours time. Been snowing 1" per hour + the entire time. Fluffy light stuff. Just another day in paradise ....

This might be way too much for the little snowblower I recently acquired. It's a midget! 4 HP, 20" cut ...

Apparently the York/Lancaster, PA area has been hit hard with ice. The electric company is saying it may take days for some to get power back on. Relief crews are having trouble getting into the area as well :(

I was just saying to the wife that area must be getting ice like crazy, after seeing all the "pink" on the radar. 25° out, so no chance of freezing rain up here.

We haven't got a bad ice storm here since '08.

So far, we're getting less than predicted - about three inches on the ground now. But, on the news an hour ago, south of here, Broome County has declared a snow emergency with a foot of snow in Binghamton area.

I'll trade ice for the 1"/hr. soft fluffy snow, just got back in from plowing,3" of the heaviest icy slop I think I've ever pushed, had the F250SD 4 wheel spinning on blacktop.Neighbor was spinning all 4 wheels on his backhoe pushing too. 32* here now, praying it warms up more,& quickly b4 more trees come down. Roofs are going to be breaking soon if it doesn't warm up, I was on our house & shop roof last night with a 16"snow thrower & cleaned them off in preparation for this mess + what might come this week end. I want spring :cry2: PS-- Idiot that designed house & shop roof apparently didn't have a clue about snow loads. :mad3:

We have about 11 inches on the ground now and it keeps coming. Hopefully we don't get the change over here. My little Jeep was pushing for all it was worth this AM. Love that little beast. Much more and I would have had to call in the big guns. I have heard two different reports about snow on Sunday one says we get hammered the other says no big deal. Guess which one I am pulling for?!? :x

Snow total was more like 6 to 7 inches, then some sleet and freezing rain. Heavy stuff to push with the JD 316.

The next storm this weekend will be a coastal event, probably not too much inland. That's all that is being said so far.

Areas to the south of here really got hammered with ice.

Can't get the $&##%€¥^%# snow blower to start. New gas, cleaned carb. Must be spark plug or needle valve. Hell of a time for it to quit. Been shoveling for 2 hrs! Ugh!!!

I threw a tire chain, had to reinstall it in the cold. :blah: I'm not done yet so the possibility of an equipment failure still exists. :o
