How many coal burners that have Nat Gas are burning less Coal ?? If you don't live in NEPA and paying $300 or more per ton Nat Gas is the way to go.

Literally surrounded by natural gas wells and four pipelines but can't get natural gas service to our house. Coal is the most economical answer. We did burn oil many years ago when it was less expensive than coal. I still keep 300 gallons of oil on hand and run a couple of cycles of oil through the winter, to kind of flush the lines, if you will... But I'm not purchasing any oil! There is a coal fired power plant near here that is shutting down in 2013 though, bummer. Lots of jobs will go, between the plant and transport jobs.
