Hi fishey,

As you already know, the 30-95 puts out nearly the same amount of BTU's as your 55. Is your stove in the basement or the living room of your home?

If you want a bigger stove, I'd look at a 50-93 Hitzer or one if the DS Machine Circulating stoves.

Where is the 55 located in your house?

He knew what you meant. How big is your house? What is the problem w/ the 55??? If you want MORE heat, neither of the stoves you are looking at can do that I don't believe. Like was mentioned, check out the Hitzer 50-93

Since you live on the shore of Lake Erie, I can understand why you would want/need a larger stove!

The DS Circulator model 1500 would be a great stove. It's rated for 96,000 BTU's and holds 60lbs of coal in the firebox and 40lbs of coal in the hopper.

The 50-93 takes to be shook down & hopper topped off every 12 hrs or so--good to get into the consistency of doing it at those intervals. Once you get it going initially, she takes approx 40 lbs a day ( 5 gal. paint pail) No worry about power outages with the gravity feed hopper--comes with a blower which I use rarely heating 2000 sq.--the 30-95 would not do that well with that amount of space, plus I'm in an old farm house, so pretty broken up.
