Fred and I usually have similar weather, but that 58 degrees is a big exception. We never got above 25 degrees all weekend, and right now we are chillin' at 15. Supposed to be about -10 tonight...Santa better dress warm.

-5 here with a stiff North wind. House is cozy, but the EFM won't get much time off tonight.

Brrrrrrr.

Last night was minus 18.9 (yes, digital :) ) They said tonight was "going to be the cold one", yet I wake up to a warm & toasty minus 7. Did someone plant a palm tree?

That's cold Rob and Freddy but that's OK for you Eskimos you are used to it. I am a sensitive Lower Hudson Valley boy and tonight it's -20F with wind chill - geez. Problems? no not really. The AnthraKing will struggle a bit I am sure at the back of the house it was deliberately undersized but it's doing brilliantly. The Hitzer 50-93 OTOH is barely out of first gear at the front..... hmmm, need to put it into second gear and I installed it there for exactly this eventuality ... love that coal. CNs motto, "Overkill is good but more overkill is better".

I think will will make some hot cocoa and send warm blankets over to my "environmentally friendly", damp wood burning, chimney smoke belching, Beemer owning, yuppie neighbor. He can always sleep in his car. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA, I slay myself. I will drive along the road and see how the solar roof guy is doing and perhaps drop off some more blankets and cocoa there too.

Too cold to wait for the bus.......so I dropped the kids off at school instead and snapped this pic in the school parking lot. One of the bus drivers told me that they started the buses last night and let them idle til this morning. Supposed to be even colder tomorrow morning.

That doesn't surprise me sterling....it was -10 on the edge of the ocean in Cutler this morning. God I am glad I moved. Funny though, my hunker down and survive for the winter mode still kicks in, even though it isn't very cold here.
