It was -30 just 30 minutes from me. Must be the lake was in my favor this morning.
I speak very little French, which is unfortunate since we are only 15 minutes from the border. I know just enough to scrape by when we go up there.

When its 22 degree's outside here in January I turn on the air conditioning
There have been a lot of -10's and under here this month not counting windchill. Sun dogs too

oh they still go through the same antics up here, they just throw out different numbers. My friend sent this yesterday, which is the -30 I referred to earlier. He lives at the crossroads of the St. Lawrence River Valley and the Champlain Valley. The wind there can be unreal, and when it isn't windy....the cold seems to really settle there.

Negative single digits are my comfort zone, below that is too cold for me. Rented a cabin along time ago that was heated with an oil drip unit and outside tank. One winter you were lucky if it got above -10 with the sun shining in the day and night would howl with -60 windchills. No fun trying to keep jellied fuel flowing. Truck had to warm oil so it would crank but you had to keep the clutch in or it would stall. Even with the transfer case in neutral the driveline fluids were too thick. Took an hour or more just to get it to roll at a crawl. I can deal with singles and coal heat.
