Still burning here too, not sure how much longer, we'll see how the weather goes. I lit the stove the 3rd week of October so it's been 6 months!

Regular pears here, but yours are ahead of mine. Likely as theres been a short drought here. Forecast had rain most of last week and into this week and I got less than 1/10". Not much snow late either, not that I minded that! But the trees and plants are starved for rain.

Overall its been pretty good weather here for almost a year now. Most the corn is planted here even if it is a little early. Im seeing quite a few 32? and/or 36? (either one or both) row corn planters this year so some upgrading in machinery has happened.

Based on the distance between us you should be about 10 days ahead of me in the season. Let me know when your Lilac blossoms and I'll do the same.

Our magnolia is starting to have some flowers peaking through.

Lilac just popped out blooms and I believe that's a flowering pear tree in bloom as well.

Damp maritime air will keep the coal fire burning...
Usually to May 15...
With the newer 503 the fire is much easier to control...
In the spring and hopefully the same in the early fall...
Keeping the damper 90% closed and the grates ashed up...
The 503 will deeply ash the front 50% and keep the coals going in the back middle half...
Keep one window cracked maybe 1/2"...
Keeps everything dry and 72* in the day 70* at night...

Done with the stove for the season since the temperature outside shot up last week.
