Alaska stove had sustained flood damage as of last night but to add insult to injury a 4 alarm fire occured about 10:00 pm Fri Sept. 9th. Flames could be visably seen from the building at that point. I have not been over yet this moring to survey the damage. From the sound of things it doesn't look good for the near future.

My only concern is that nobody has gotten hurt in any way. That includes the fireman and employees that may have been in the building.

I agree, lets hope and pray that no one was injured.

Democracy rests upon the principle that collective wisdom arises from a pool of individual ignorance. A Republic rests squarely upon objective law, and fundamentally upon those laws which restrict the scope and actions of government.

Are there any pictures of the buildings? Did Leisure Line survive?

Thanks we are fine and doing well, have reached out to the Alaska Folks to see if they needed help but have not heard anything. Not sure if the flood waters have receded yet. :(

I happend to order parts from the Alaska Stove Company on Monday September 12th 2011. The transaction went as smooth as can be. I needed a new motor and assembly for my stoker stove and It arrived yesterday and it is installed today and up and running again. I had no idea in the course of my transaction that the plant had experienced a fire and flood.
Hope all is well. I'm quite fond of my Alaska Stoker....as a matter of fact with this mid september cold snap I'm kinda gettin eager to cranker up!

It was nice to hear Ken this morning at the Alaska Stove Co in Bloomsburg on the phone. I talked to Brian first and coordinated a new Stoker II with the 500 cfm blower option and the remote thermostat and a feild controls RC baro.

Even as this is typed my buddy is enroute to pick it up! :) another convert 8-)

Ken said the area got hit hard. the levies up river actually is the reason for the severe flooding that put THREE Feet of water in thier showroom and building!! No one injured and they are back up and running and MANUFACTURING as of yesterday!!

They need a few new roofs on thier rear wharehouses and ins should be helpful there but the flood might be another issue..... you know the ins co's they like to hide from paying behing the exclusion clauses like act of God and such.

Lets all hope things go in Alaska favor and they get whats due them from the insurance..

again this morning GREAT customer service and sales from the hardworking and reliable stove company in bloomsburg Pa!! :)
