Wood Pellets Superior to Coal

I have found an excellent use for wood pellets: cat litter. Better than any "proper" litter we have used. Less smell. More absorbent and does not leave damp residue on the bottom of the litter box. Way way cheaper than regular litters. Less tracking across the room. OK, so I'm probably only one of 100 million people who already figured this out ....

I was going to comment on my experiment using dried cat turds as fuel but..................

Hi rberq. Are you serious about that?
If yes, what kind of litter did you used before switching to the wood pellets?
How much (height) litter did you used before and now with wood pellets?
You said less smell ??????
Did you changed the cat's food at the same time you changed the sort of litter?
Maybe I could be the second one of 100 million.............

Yes, I'm serious. We inherited a cat last year, first one we ever had. We tried all different kinds of litter. One kind was called "Yesterday's News" and it was old newspaper ground up and compressed into pellets. It worked pretty well, and the pellets look a lot like wood pellets except only half as big. So I made the great mental leap that maybe wood pellets would also work.

As to smell, I don't smell well, so I'm going by how often my wife complains that it is time to change the litter. The wood pellets are better or at least as good. No, we did not change the cat's food. We fill the litter box to about the same height as other litters, maybe a little less. Last time I bought wood pellets I mentioned to the store clerk that I was using them for the cat, and she said other people have told her the same thing.

Since my wife and I are approaching doddering old age, it will soon be time for us to upgrade from one cat to maybe 35 or 40 like those folks you read about who have to be taken away and put somewhere safe, and I expect the wood pellets to be a great help with that.

Also now marketed as horse stall bedding instead of shavings. So in theory use it and then put it on an outdoor furnace for fuel and no I have no intention of trying that one.
