Marietta, NY here. About 15 miles south of Syracuse. Newbie coal user. LL Pocono rear vent with Coal-trol. ALready met Neal & Ed from Coal-trol and they're great guys and provide a great product. Switched from wood to coal this fall. Gettin too old to hump firewood and realized all the benefits from coal so convinced the boss (wife) to switch. Somewhat of a learning curve but getting the hang of it. Now I'm looking to build a bin in my basement under a window. Anyone know where to get plans for a bin? Any help appreciated.

Hi to all,

I'm am a converted wood burner coming from a tarm wood gasification boiler to a new Harman SF260 switching over was a snap because everything was in place from the tarm. Best thing I've ever done, less mess and one trailer load of coal that cost just a bit over the cost of a tank of oil and I'm set for winter. The trailer is a 6x10 hydraulic dump that will serve as my coal bin for the winter parked a few feet away from my walkout basement door. I built a new tailgate for it with a 12x8" coal chute and its been working great. I've been reading here for a while and figured its time to join. this place has answered many questions I've had and many more to come I'm sure.

Thanks to all
Shaggy aka Bill

Well I wouldn't say the L. Hudson Valley coal group will rule the world but we do have the fastest growth rate. 2 burners just became 3 - beat that NEPA. - welcome Shaggy. VERY cozy in Chester. We could set up a coffee morning, we only need one small table somewhere.

I'm in Marlboro and I've been burning coal for about 4 weeks now. It's much less work and much more consistant then burning wood. My Buderus hasn't fired since I lit the first fire except when I give it a few minutes just for some exercise.

Hello,
I'm new to both wood or coal, but I'm considering the Tarm Solo 30 or the Harman SF-260, so why the switch, and why do you like the Harman better?

I'm a total newbie to all of this :? , and trying to make my oil boiler with tankless coil a backup, so any information about your system would be much appreciated.

Thanks for sharing,
