I'm a New Yorker & my name & my problem is Freetown Fred (for you Richard )Ironically,I'm from Freetown--Cortland County--burned wood for 50 yrs. & picked up a Hitzer 50-93.This is my first yr doing coal & am real grateful to have found this site plus Dean out in Indiana--we keep this 200 yr old farmhouse pretty toasty--YUP,we've had our glitches but with listening, reading & useing some of the common sense God used to give out--I think we're doing OK

Hello, my name is Paul. This is the first year of burning coal. Bought a Wood Chuck 4000, Wood/Coal Combo unit in VT. two years ago. Took this long to convince the wife, this is the way to go. I did a test fire for two days and that sealed the deal. She loves the constant heat. Within two weeks, the oil burner was disconnected and coal was online full time. With this forum, the learning curve has been shorten by years. The Wood Chuck has been running great, keeping the wife warm and happy in Fort Ann.

in on my second year with coal. I have been getting my coal in Madison also.
I have a Keystoker 90 heating about 1800 sq ft and enjoy every minute.
I work at Golden Artist Colors in New Berlin.
Hi!
I live in a suburb of Rochester (called Pittsford).
When I lived in the city, I burned coal in my 3200 sq. Tudor using 1st a Russo CW1 and the a Keystoker boiler w/ a HW coil. Burned about 5 tons a season. My neighbors were spending $500 a month for NG to heat and freezing. Kept the house @ 80. It was great.
When I lived way out near Naples, I had a Harman forced air w/a HW coil. Did not like the Harmon. To be fair, it may be because the idiot that installed it and the chimney did an awful job.
In this house (only 1500 sq. ft. colonial), I plan on having a stove or furnace in basement. Haven't bought the unit yet - am looking. Want to buy used and no electricity necessary for operation except a blower. Anyone got one??
Would LOVE to hook up w/someone to get a trailer of coal delivered.

Hello all. I'm from Greenwich, NY and just purchased a Keystoker 90 which will be installed later on this week. I've been burning wood in the basement and a corn stove in the living room for the last two years trying not to use any oil at all. I am looking forward to getting the 90 installed and running. Looking into the K2 boiler for the future.
