Going Over to the Dark Side

I've burned coal in hand fired stoves for 30 years, but I'm installing a Leisure Line
Pioneer TV later this month. I'll still have the Hanover II in the kitchen, but the
LL give us the ability to visit Grand Kids without having worry about losing the
fire. It should also help with the spring and fall decisions about whether to have
one or two stoves running. Either too hot or too cool.
Needing two sizes of coal is kind of a bummer, but two trips to get coal is just
twice as much fun.
Anybody else run both types ?

Can't say as I blame you. The neigbor who stokes my hand fed when I am away just left for Florida, so either no more trips to see my daughter, or I fail to gain membership in the one match club. Having the space and layout in your home for a stoker and a hand fed seems pretty ideal to me. Did you get the Pioneer new?

Running a Alaska Channing III on Rice and a Harman MK III on Nut or Pea.
Restoring a Harman Mag Stoker this spring, not sure what I will do with it though!

Bought the Pioneer at the Drums outlet store. Hope to pick it
up in a few weeks. The Pioneer just replaces the Hanover I.
Hope to get it set up and all the bugs worked out so that next
winter goes smoothly.

It ain't so bad. The stoker alone is fine for cool weather, once the cold settles in it's both stoves straight through till spring. Sure is easier then feeding 2 wood burners all winter.

Well the LL Pioneer in up and running. Jerry said that all you need to do is
set the correct time and turn it on. He was right. Holds a perfect 72 degrees.
Keeping the glass clean is kind of a pain, but there is nothing else to do but
sit and look at it. I would recommend this stove to anyone.

Do the Leisure line come with a plaid skirt for the girlie men that run them?

Freddy,
All the Leisure Line stoves come with a silk skirt and a box of pink tea.
It was real warm here today, and the LL just throttled back and went
into sleep mode for the day. No more opening the windows to let out
excess heat.
