Greetings,
I am a novice at coal burning so any help would be greatly appreciated. I acquired a prizer small 2 burner coal stove from a friend years ago. I just installed it and am having trouble trying to regulate the temperature. There is a small rod that sticks out of the middle of the stove to open and close the air vents but even when they are closed the temps. at the stove top are about 400~ to 500~. Is this too hot? I would like to regulate to a little lower temp. maybe 350~. Also I don't know if I should fill all the way up with coal or feed it little by little. Is filling it up causing it to burn too quickly and too hot? Also what are the clearances for the stove pipe and stove itself? I have it in a smaller room with 7.5 ft ceiling. This stove throws great heat I would just like to control it a little better, for my peace of mind. Thanks. Torkr2
