SF 250 Fire Box Reducer

Just picked up a fire box reducer for my harmen sf 250 with no instructions the dealer was no help either. Could someone tell me where it goes and what the purpose is. And please don't say to reduce the fire box? Thanks Brian

26weeks, I think Cap had bought one of those reducers. You may want to pm him. :notsure:

Here's my homemade model. Nothing more than a 5/8" 316 SS flat plate cut to a very tight fit, sits on short lip on 3 sides. I add fire brick to build a wall. Essentially I cut the firebox in half.

Plate shown to rear. I slide it forward in order to have fire in rear. I also add firebrick laid horz to build a 4" wall.
