Vermont Castings Went Bankrupt

Modern and vintage hand fired coal stove are similar to a wood stove and in some cases can burn either. They need to be regulated and fed by hand usually every 12 to 24 hours depending on your usage. They require no power to operate making them ideal for rural settings with long power outages.

Just tried to call them to get an outside air adapter. I was directed to 1.800.525.1898 which is the parent company CFM. Long story short, a recording informed me that the company is in receivership and that I could go to

I suppose I could go directly to VC and randomly key an extension and get through but I imagine the people there aren't feeling real freindly about now. It may be a good time to load up on grates and other consumables before they become impossible to find.

Ya gotta wonder how this can happen with oil and gas prices what they are. They must have been selling stoves like hotcakes, everyone else is.Their parts cost a fortune and the stoves aint that cheap either.
Maybe they can apply for a BAIL OUT!
I was thinking about moving to Botswanna and appling for a grant to study the mating habits of the spotted pecker toad. That should be good for a couple mill at least. :P :D

First, Thanks for the updated info, Dallas.

It wasn't that VC went bankrupt, the parent company did. VC may have been the only profitable arm of CFM. I'm just glad to see that they were bought by the company in KY.
