Any recommendations for a fan that pushes a high volume of air but does it without the high velocity of most?
I’m looking to move more air in the basement towards my steps but it seems most fans use a lot of speed to push air. Which cools the air going up.

I have tried that. I have one duct blowing up through the floor from the stove to the first floor. It send a TON of heat up that area. But I’d like to get more up to the other end of the first floor where the steps go up.

Air will probably come down those stairs. My up warm air is at one end of basement. Stairs at other end allows cold air down.

Try reversing this blower and see what that does ( we have years of posts regarding moving heat from basement ) there’s only so much heat to move without actually having a furnace or building a custom shroud to pipe it any distancemidnightmadman29 wrote: ↑Fri. I know I’ve read about it a lot but I only have one return that blows up out of the blower in the Gibraltar. I rigged up a 4” pipe that connects to the blower on the stove.
It forces a ton of hot air up through a 6x14
I thought about Cutting in another to let cool it go down. But not sure. I tried blowing the cool air down from the stairwell but it didn’t seem to so anything. I think that theory would work well if I was blowing the air out of the stove up.

If the cool air is blown down, the warm air should rise up to replace it. Hot water systems ran that way forever before they started using circulator pumps. Cool air or water wants to drop and warm air or water want to rise. As to whether you can get enough flow and get it to where you want it evenly is another question. In a single room having the warm air on one end of the room and the return on the other end should create a circular flow. Walls and door make things trickier. Even if you can't get it perfect you can probably improve your situation. I'm not sure I'd cut a bunch of holes in the floor or spend a ton of money.midnightmadman29 wrote: ↑Fri.
