I'm looking for an inexpensive shop stove. Does anyone have any experience with a Vogelsang pot belly? It's advertised as 200,000BTU.
Thanks.

If I remember correctly..these stoves are not UL rated or tested....Meaning if you had a fire from one you may have a hard time with the Home owners insurance claim...Check your local codes...

They are a cheap made stove also...also if that stove got to to output of 200,000 btu's...it may get cherry red....

If it was me I would look for a good used stove..

Al, you are probably right about the cherry red- that Vogelzang requires 36" clearance all the way around the stove. That is a lot of space to waste. I pass on the V-zang & look for used.
