How does everyone like Sherman Coal?...
Been using Lehigh but lookin' at others...
Lining up some coal for the winter...
Looking into delivery by rail, 100 ton...
To cut down on delivery cost by TT...

Rail is the way to go if you have access to a siding or yard that won’t kill you in rent over the long term , 100t has to be a phenomenal bulk price . Those days are gone on eastern Long Island ( they built a rail freight yard here about 10-12 years ago but its too little too late ) bulk isn’t available here anymore, road tax and tolls have kept us paying high prices ever since I started burning in 08 ,

Friends own a Stove store...
They still sell coal although deliveries to homes no longer happen...
Mostly gas stoves but wood then coal stoves...
MA wants to add a carbon tax to liquid fuels...
So the wood and coal side might get a boost...
Looking for ways to lower shipping costs...
Last year trucking ran $75-100/ton...
Hopper car with a proper conveyor will do the trick in both locations...
Dedicated coal facilities are long gone...

Surprisingly there is not much of a discount, if any, at 100 ton...
I don't see us doing 1000 ton contract but who knows what might happen...
The rail car would not be on the siding for long as the coal would be pre-sold...
We do have a new rail yard in Hyannis...
Working with a feed mill that takes deliveries by rail...
That rail operator manages/owns the rail yard in Hyannis...
