I picked one up last summer and the big arrow head bricks are in rough shape. I think I can reformat one with some stove cement or some such and keep it usable. The other is going to need major surgery. Anyway, saying I can get past that hurdle, I can't find any info on loading/starting procedure with these stoves. Is it the same essentially as a box stove? I guess my concern is, after getting it started, how/when do you fill it? Seems like an awful lot of off gassing if you have say a six inch bed and add 2 foot more depth to fill that giant magazine. Anyone have pics? Or a tried and true loading sequence?

Find the videos Buck posted... is it Buck47? He made a couple videos of tending his and restored them for Amish in Iowa. Kingcoal might happen along also, maybe others.

I have seen his name, but I didn't see videos. I was hoping to get some of those guys to give tending hints. I know king coal is back from retirement and jubilee jerry said he only stops in sporadically, so I figured if I started asking now I might get some ideas before next fall.

I’m going to guess the off gassing would occur up the chimneys and not the center of the fuel load. If that’s the case once the coal is ignited below that first chimney opening then anything above it would slow the flow of air so it could then be loaded up…least path of resistance for gases being up the flu’s. Just a guess…
KingCoal would likely be the best source for information.

The subject of Warm Mornings and the why and how of their special firebricks has been well covered,... along with lots of pictures. All one has to do is use the search function.
Then Steve does not have to rewrite it all.

Funny, I read what I could find and found no description of tending. Any particular words to search? And I'm not talking Steve's experiments as that's out of the ordinary. I'm looking for plain Jane stoves tending procedure

I don't remember any one specific thread for operating a Warm Morning, just bits of info in many different posts explaining the how and whys of Warm Mornings. They start and operate much like any other coal stove that has a magazine,..... but just able to run longer before needing to refuel. And like mag stoves it's not fuel but ash buildup that becomes the time - tending factor.
Much of the info goes back before Steve got into base heater experiments, so it'll take going back quite a few years to start searching in the search results.
