Thanks Bill. Starting to ramp her up for the chill starting this afternoon. A bit warm in the house. Got a window or two cracked. LOL.
I did the same this morning. Was 49 outside and 75 inside when I left. Hopefully still be 75 when I get home since it's headed towards 19 overnight. Do you have any pictures of your stove?

I still havent seen a nicer looking modern coal stove than this model. Sounds and looks like it performs well too. Glad its working out.

Yes, I agree. Very happy so far? I do have to supplement with my Toyostove kero furnace when it gets down near zero. I have not tried to push this stove beyond 400 degrees.

Nice setup! I agree with Warm, I don't know what it is about that stove, but I just like it. You can go more than 400, the crock can take it, but maybe not the Christmas lights.

Appreciate the comments. I do have a wonderful local dealer. I'm lucky to live close to Keystoker. I picked my stove up at their factory and got to chat with Don. He has been great with any question I have had too. PS. those christmas lights are not my idea! My Wife insists on always decorating for the season. Maybe one day they will melt

I was able to idle my stove back to 160 degrees during this warm spell. Tended once a day instead of every 12 hours like I do during cold weather. Should be back into cold weather starting tomorrow.
How is the keystroker tending at low temperatures 24 hours ? I know my ds can be a pain and much longer tend time .

I close the bi metalic damper all the way and tend once a day. So far no problems?

How does the tending go? Could you describe the process? Considering you have the hopper, is it just top off the hopper and shake? Or is there more to it?

I shake, let it burn off any volatiles that may have built up in the hopper. Then load the hopper. You can do it all at once but sometimes you get a little blue flash of gas if you open the hopper. Not a big deal, just open the hopper slowly. I do this twice a day in cold weather. Takes about 3 to 5 minutes tops.
