Hi and welcome to the forum. I'm not sure exactly what your asking, could you elaborate. Which model baro do you have?

It’s just the standard t style and do I take the weight away from center or towards center to try and draft it right to put more heat in house instead of out stack

There should be some kind of labels on the baro where the weight is. Set the weight to .5

Fill out your profile. Please. It just makes life easier for those wanting to offer advice. You don't need to put your home address. Fill out type of stove, blah, blah. Different stoves have.different setups. We can give you more precise answers quicker to help you. Oh, and everyone loves pictures.

How much coal do you have in it? Are you filling it up? A healthy coal fire needs to be about 8 inches deep which might take close to 2 full bags of coal (80 pounds).

I have that exact stove in my kitchen area. It's too small to handle 1600 sqft in really cold weather. Hard to move heat in a ranch style house.

That could be the problem. What exactly is wide open? Nothing should be wide open except possibly reload time.

We have 3 of those stoves in our family, one family has one in there house, and the other family has one in there house and one in there garage, great stove and very tough being full cast iron, none of them have baros, as these have by metallic controls that will for the most part module the heat output, most are set between 3-5 on the heat controller on the back right of the stove. Make sure the hopper is full.

I will say the grate isn’t the best at removing ash, they seem to do better flossing the grate and poking from underneath, only rotating the actual grate very little, poke down through the hopper every now and then also they tend to bridge inside.
