Hitzer 30-95 draft settings

Here's a good starting point. Leave manual damper wide open. Ash pan vents looking like 1/2 moon (half circle), and back dial pointing straight up. If too hot, turn the back dial down some. If too cool, turn the back dial up some.

I did that today when I noticed it dropping that far. That's the worse I've seen it. On other warmer or rainy days the worse I've seen is .01-.015 which is still lower I'd like to see

Thanks for the reply I did crack them a shade past quarter moon earlier thinking that some constant air would keep the chimney/idle temp higher and give me some better draft. I haven't been able to monitor it much yet. I know no matter what more chimney height is the answer but need something to get me by. My extension ladder only gets me to where my chimney is now. It's a slate roof Ive needed a chimney support bracket so whenever I can get someone to do that I'll have them throw the next section on
