Hitzer Stoves, Good or Bad?

Hand Fed Coal Stove: DS Machine 1300 with hopper
Coal Size/Type: Blaschak Anthracite Nut
Other Heating: Oil hot water radiators (fuel oil); propane

Replacing the chimney, make sure you get adequate height to maintain a good draft through the coal bed. From the picture I would guess your present chimney has maybe 12 or 13 feet from the stove outlet to chimney peak??? That seems a bit skimpy. Perhaps Hitzer can give you a recommendation on that as well. One nice thing about those metal chimneys, it's easy to add a section.

sorry I meant roof. not floor. that would be hard to do , going through the floor with a chimney. lol
